MEDIA RELEASE
On Saturday, 11/19/2016, at 4:26 PM, Bay City Fire was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 6610 Union Ave. Additionally, Garibaldi Fire Department was dispatched as part of an Automatic Aide Agreement, and Garibaldi Ambulance was dispatched to provide EMS support of our operations.
The first arriving unit found a trailer that was nearly consumed by fire, and that fire had extended into the breezeway of the adjoining structure.
Bay City Fire Department Engines 41-13 and 41-11, Garibaldi Fire Department Engines 31-12 and 31-14, and Tillamook Fire District Engine 71-11. Contained and extinguished the fire. At 4:57 PM Salvage and Overhaul began. At 5:18 PM Command began releasing Automatic and Mutual Aid assets.
At 7:14 PM the last Bay City Fire Unit returned to quarters.
Bay City Fire Department Personnel returned to station 41 and cleaned hose, tools and, equipment until both engines were fully back in service. All Personnel were released at about 9:00 PM.
No Fire Personnel or Civilians were injured in this incident.
Loss: The trailer was a total loss, and the structure sustained approximately $9,000 in damage to the structure and its contents.
