Tsunami Warning Sirens
Just a reminder :

At 1:00 PM on the second Monday of each month, the Tillamook County Outdoor Warning system is exercised completely. This exercise tests the primary and backup activation systems, and verifies the operation of the individual sirens throughout the county. All of the sirens in the county will be activated and will sound for approximately 30 seconds, twice. The first sounding will be via primary activation system, and the second will be the backup activation system. In a perfect test, you should hear each siren twice, about 10 minutes apart. Some sirens will be a solid siren tone, and some will be an up and down rising/falling wail. The test should be complete by 1:30 PM.

You do not need to do anything when the sirens are activated for the test. You are encouraged to listen for the sirens so you will recognize their sound. This would be a good time to discuss with your family the actions you would take in the event of a real threat, either Tsunami or Dam failure if you live along the Nestucca or Trask rivers.

Thank you for your attention, If you have any questions or want to learn more, Please contact the Tillamook County Office of Emergency Management at 503-842-3412.

In the event of a Tsunami, the Siren will sound continuously. Move to higher ground immediately
