History:
In 1922, a small group of volunteers started the Bay City Library with
donated books in a small building on C Street. It was made a Branch of
the Tillamook County Library on October 1, 1947. On April 1, 1964,
funded by an extra $1 on the water bill, it moved into a library annex
on the new City Hall. Marion Barr became the Librarian in 1966 and December
17, 1985 in a tribute to her it was named the Marion Barr Library.
